Whether you’ve taught word analogies before or this is your students’ first time with them, rest assured that they will get the hang of this Christmas coloring activity within just a few minutes!

There are four different Christmas color-by-word-analogies worksheets included: the first two levels require students to identify four different types of analogies while the second two levels require students to identify six types of analogies.

The Word Analogies Include:

  • Part : Whole
  • Antonyms
  • Synonyms
  • Cause : Effect
  • Kind : Type
  • Characteristic
  • Object : Action

Turn up the festive music, pass out a candy cane, and watch your students have a blast tackling the different Christmas analogies. Can they think critically to identify the linguistic connections in this Christmas coloring activity?

Prep is quick and easy… Just print & go! These Christmas color-by-word-analogy pages are great for early finishers, bell-ringers, homeroom, or last-minute Christmas break substitute plans.

Please note:

Some students may lack the background knowledge required to complete some of the analogies. Use it as a teaching moment and look up the objects and/or definitions in question together. All terms included in the analogies are common terms found in season greetings, festive music, movies, and more. For your ELL students, you may want to provide a visual dictionary (not included).
